The stay is always in 4* Hotels and with a great midsize car with GPS Navigation. As you know we can amend the itinerary towards your needs at any time. This is a really a great road trip through mid-Europe on a high level.

München (Munich) owes its origins to the 12th-century Duke Henry the Lion, who diverted the lucrative trade in salt via a new bridge over the Isar so that he could levy taxes. München suffered terribly from World War II bombing; it has since been sensitively restored. This is a cultural city, alive with theaters, galleries, and museums. The Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), with its two domed towers, is its chosen emblem. The stained-glass windows survived both wars. The heart of München is the Marienplatz (square), with the neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall). Its Glockenspiel can be heard twice daily when the tower comes alive with figures. The tower has a fine view, but there are 300 steps to climb first!

Salzburg Austria
Salzburg Austria

Salzburg, surrounded by magnificent Alpine scenery, boasts one of the world's most striking cityscapes - a medieval fortress perched above a perfectly preserved baroque inner city filled with architectural wonders. Like most European cities, it's divided by a river -  in this case, the Salzach. The names of the town and river derive from the region's salt mines, which brought Salzburg fame and fortune and are now popular attractions. With only 150.000 inhabitants, Salzburg is also one of Europe's leading cultural centers, especially for classical music. Mozart was born here, and Salzburg boasts one of the grandest music festivals of the world.

Around Lake Como, you will see vast villas and castles overlooking the water. Cernobbio is a pretty town nearby Como. Here is the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, once the home of the English Queen Caroline. At Tremezzo is the Villa Carlotta, once lived in by Princess Carlotta of Prussia, who laid out its gardens in the 1850s. The parish Church of Lenno has an ancient crypt that is well worth a visit. Further on around the lake are Mennagio and Gavedona. At nearby Dongo, Mussolini was captured by the partisans in 1945. On the other side of the lake, at Varenna, visit the Villa Monastero with its formal gardens and the Romanesque Church of San Giorgio. One really good way to see the lake - and admire the towns from a distance - is to take a boat trip around it.

Zermatt Matterhorn Switzerland
Zermatt Matterhorn Switzerland

Zermatt, at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn, is the world without cars. Elektromobiles and horse-drawn sleighs and carriages are the only transport allowed. Zermatt has many opportunities for hiking. There are numerous well-marked footpaths and walks (388km in all) which will take you through pine-scented mountain forests, to the shores of calm Alpine lakes and to the ice-blue glaciers. Mountain railways make it easy to reach the high altitude rambling areas. There are many mountain cabins and restaurants ready to offer a warm welcome and a leisurely rest.

Titisee (Black Forest), and the nearby lake of Schluchsee lie at the heart of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) region. The scenic highlight is doubtless the fantastic setting of Titisee lake whose crystal-clear water attracts thousands of enthusiastic swimmers to the healthy climate of the resort town bearing the same name. Since its conversion to a pedestrian zone and waterfront promenade, Seestraße is considered the loveliest street for strolling in the Southern Black Forest. The cold, clear waters of Lake Titisee are among the most sought after in the region. Except for a handful of medium-sized steamers that slowly circumnavigate the lake, local ordinances allow only rowboats, foot-operated paddleboats, and electric (not gas-operated)
