| Hotel Aldwark Manor - York |
| |
|
Commissioned in 1865 for Lord Walsingham as a wedding present for his eldest daughter, Aldwark Manor is a Victorian manor house set in 100 acres of beautiful Yorkshire countryside with the River Ure meandering through the grounds yet within easy reach of historic York with its many and varied attractions. Each room is individually decorated and the hotel has comfortable bars as well as the award-winning Rendlesham Restaurant. Bunker's Brasserie is also available for less formal dining. With the Manor House styled traditionally, there is also the alternative modern new wing, with unusually shaped apartments and a very trendy restaurant and bar area.

There is a range of top class leisure facilities including a heated indoor swimming pool, spa pool, state-of-the-art gym, fun and drench showers plus health and beauty treatments. A point of interest is that the hotel was used by the RAF Wing Commander Guy Gibson during the Second World War to plan the legendary Dam Busters raid and there is some interesting memorabilia from the period on display.
