The country house “Rodrigo de Vivar Resorts and Country” is in Central Italy, in Latium, at only 24 kilometres from Rome and one or two kilometres from the Fiumicino Airport.
It is situated in the Roman Country, in the wide property of the Princes Aldobrandini, descendents of Pope Clemente II. It is close to the excavations of Ostia Antica and inside the Medieval “Borgo”, behind the old castle of Giulio II della Rovere.
Some famous personages, such as the king Charles III of Borbone, Baldassarre Peruzzi, Pablo Picasso, Chagall and others stayed in some of our rooms in the Medieval “Borgo”.The country house consists of 10 rooms and 4 suites that are very comfortable and characterized by an unmistakable style: antique and refined furniture, fine chandeliers from Murano, original Persian carpets. It also has a very well stocked newspaper and periodical library, a videostore and a library.
In each room you can find television, video-recorder, hairdryer, minibar and in "De lux rooms" everything you need for you breakfast.

The country house welcomes its guests in a wonderful, exquisite and silent place, where they can have beautiful walks and excursions even to the shore of the Tiber river and are invited to take part in the life of the “Haflinger” horses’ breeding.
You can also attend different courses such as riding for childrens, archery, painting, restoration, ceramics, traditional cuisine lessons and take part in “topic days” about animal and plant life of the Roman Country that the country house organizes.
Our guests will take great plasure in tasting local and typical dishes of the Roman cooking, such as fried fish, the famous “Spaghetti alla Sorrentina”, “fettuccine”, the spring lamb said “alla scottadito”, good cakes and different kinds of pizza by our restaurant opens for our guests only.
Silence and peace characterize our country house, it is the ideal place where you can spend an unforgettable holiday among nature, history, culture, flavours and smells of the Roman country.

Activities and Courses: Riding for children and expert; Archery; Painting; Traditional cousine lessons; Ceramics; Conducted tours to the excavation in Ostia Antica; Walks and excursions; Newspaper and periodical library, books, Videostore. For the courses you have book (at least 20-30 days before) and it is requested (at least 5 people).
Summer courses are organized for a restricted number of people 6-7, and they develop in 24 hours. There is in a large and peacefull workroom, plunged in the nature of the roman country, where people will sleep.

| "Rodrigo de Vivar" gives double possibility and typology of stay. Our guestes could choose, to live plunged under history and culture, in the splendid rooms and in the large suites of The Burg, coming back to a medieval life, or they can choose the wonderful and nice rooms or suites located in the country behind Ostia Antica excavations, completely surrounded of nature and peace.
